2024 Mazda2 Undergoes A Subtle Facelift For City Car Buyers
We knew it was coming and this is it; the 2024 Mazda2. But, before you jump out of your skin with excitement, know that it is only a facelifted model and not an all-new generation.
Alterations made to the small city car are limited but will be welcomed by those wanting to pick up the keys to one. The changes start at the front end with a new fascia that encompasses a revised grille that can be finished in either black or the same color as the rest of the exterior.

Mazda’s designers have then incorporated a tiny colored accent on the grille, finished in either yellow or red depending on the model. All hatchback models, as well as the Mazda2 GT Sedan have also been updated with a redesigned rear bumper, although you may need a microscope to notice the changes. This new bumper also sports a small colored accent to mimic the one from the front grille.
Mazda has also introduced two new paint schemes for the 2024 model year, the first of which is dubbed Aero Grey Metallic and the second is coined Airstream Blue Metallic, meaning shoppers now have nine exterior finishes to choose from. The Pure SP model also comes standard with a gloss black roof.
Changes made to the interior are a touch more obvious than those made to the exterior. They include three colored trim pieces offered in Pure White, Mirror Black, or Mint for the Pure and Pure SP models. Meanwhile, the Evolve and GT variants rock a black interior with red highlights for the seat stitching and air vent surrounds. The Mazda2 GT also features partial leather seats, a red and black dash, polished dual exhuast tips, and an aero-inspired multi-spoke wheel design.
Mazda has also cleaned up the design of all models, excluding the Pure, with a shark fin antenna.
Full powertrain and pricing details have not been announced. What we do know is that the new Mazda2 will launch in Australia in June with deliveries commencing in July.
